What you need to know about the Universal Pre K (UPK) Programs in New Rochelle, NY

This spring my wife and I decided to register our 3 year old daughter with one of the Universal Pre-K programs in the City of New Rochelle.  Unfortunately this year (2015) I forgot to register my daughter for the Barnard UPK and as a result we missed the yearly lotto.  The lotto is held around January/February.  My wife and I looked into all the UPK programs that are offered by the City of New Rochelle and I will say that we were very impressed.  They have caring staff, the programs are conveniently located and I personally feel that the programs will meet my child’s growing needs.  You can contact the magnet office and they will give you a list of UPK programs within the city.  It is also important for you to know that if your child is enrolled in any of  New Rochelle’s UPK programs there is no cost.  Please note- there is a full day UPK program from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm that provides lunch and snacks, please contact the magnet office for more details.  The best contact person is Dawn in the New Rochelle magnet office.  She answered all of my questions and kept me informed of all changes.  The phone number for the magnet program is 914-576-1622.  So my wife and I  have enrolled my daughter and she is getting ready to start school this fall.
